Chevron Stripes!

Chevron is a French word meaning rafter or roof, which is what a chevron looks like; two straight lines meeting at an angle just as rafters do in a roof.  Herringbone, zig zag, chevron... call it what you want but this fabulous signature pattern of Missoni home (and even Charlie Brown's shirt) is here to stay!  The "V" shaped stripes were very popular in the 70's and have been consistantly appearing for the last few years in fashion and interiors.  These interesting stripes add an extra dynamic and bold touch to any style room depending on how you apply them.  In permanent applications like flooring and backsplashes play it a little safe, for example tone on tone.  But for your accessories go bold!  Demand contrast between each row of stripes.  Play with color, stripe thickness, scale etc.  Chevron stripes are an excellent way to add texture and drama to any room!
