Accent Walls

So, as interior designers, we get asked questions all the time about whether clients should "do an accent wall".  If asked this question 3 years ago, I would have jumped at the thought because it was the latest trend. Now though, my initial reaction is: "why not just paint the whole room one color? Can you not commit?"
Or, how about instead of paint, you wallpaper the accent wall? Do certain rooms just REQUIRE an accent wall? I have been gathering photos on rooms with accent walls and wanted to share!!

Some designers love painting an accent wall. Others would never even consider it. Whose side are you on?
